Installation of veneers

Veneers are a popular solution in restorative dentistry, primarily used for aesthetic rehabilitation and the reconstruction of damaged tooth crowns. These ultra-thin ceramic shells are bonded to the front surface of the enamel, enhancing the appearance of teeth while concealing imperfections and providing additional protection against external factors.

Indications for Veneers:

  • Fluorosis: Discoloration and structural changes in enamel caused by excessive fluoride exposure;
  • Tooth Discoloration: Staining due to medical treatments, chronic dental conditions, or intrinsic factors;
  • Chips and Cracks: Restoration of teeth affected by minor fractures or mechanical damage;
  • Bite Irregularities: Correction of diastemas (gaps between teeth), insufficient tooth height, pathological wear, and certain cases of misalignment.

Veneers types

Ceramic Veneers

Ceramic veneers are classified into pressed and milled types. They are fabricated in a dental laboratory based on digital scans or traditional impressions of the patient’s teeth. The thickness of these veneers ranges from 0.5 mm to 1 mm.

Feldspathic Veneers

Feldspathic veneers are ultra-thin, starting from just 0.2 mm in thickness. They provide the highest level of aesthetics, offering a bright, natural-looking smile without any gray undertones.

Composite Veneers

Composite veneers serve as a temporary solution for improving dental aesthetics. However, within one to two years, they tend to lose their luster, become matte, change color, and wear down quickly. This technique involves layering composite material directly onto the front surface of the tooth.

We do not use composite veneers in our practice.
